TerraCycle partners with corporations to recycle items that are not generally accepted by most consumer recycling programs. These items are broken down and turned into new products. At CAMOM, we participate in TerraCycle programs that help remove non-recyclable products from the local landfill. Waste collection programs include but are not limited to, tubes and containers from toothpaste/toothbrush/floss and personal care items, food pouches, baby food packaging, used writing instruments, and other packaging for specific brands. As a bonus to reducing global waste, recycling verified products helps CAMOM to earn TerraCycle points which are then redeemed as monetary donations to our non-profit organization. We encourage members to participate and spread the word!

CAMOM has a dedicated collection spot for TerraCycle in central Columbia. This site is only accessible to CAMOM members. Presorting items into separate bags according to recycling programs is helpful but not necessary. Please verify that containers/pouches are dry, empty, and with lids attached. Do not rinse as we cannot ship wet packaging. Coordinate details for pick-up or drop-off at terracycle@camom.org.
